We love to hear your feedback!
Center Point Ambulance Service began in the fall of 1956 by the members of the fire department. Some of the original members are still in the area.
The Ambulance was kept at the "Skelly Station" which is now Rhinehart's because there was no space at the fire station.
During the Mid '90's, The Ambulance Service and fire department became separate organizations.
In 2008 the a Ambulance service moved to its currently location at 521 Franklin street and expanded its fleet to three ambulances. In 2014 Center Point's service area was expanded by the state of Iowa to help cover more of northern Linn county. This expansion included the towns of Central City and Coggon with a second station in Central City housing 2 ambulances.
Members of the Service come all across the area to staff ambulances and to provide care, with some living in town and others as far away as Cedar Rapids.
As Iowa 501c3 not for profit corporation owned by its members, our service unlike many other public safety organizations is funded strictly by private donations, fundraisers and service fees. No tax revenue is given to our service . Our members attend monthly trainings to learn new skills and techniques all with the goal to provide exceptional care to you and the community.
